Day 14: Uniquely Different
This past November the world population crossed 8 billion! Estimates vary, but most agree that there have been over 100 billion humans to date throughout history. Look at this number:
100,000,000,000
You are 1 of 100 billion humans that have ever walked the earth. You and I are 99.9% the same in our genetic makeup. Whether you are black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, or if you are Christian, Hindu, Muslim, or an atheist…you are 99.9% like each and every other human being. As similar as we are, we are at the same time uniquely different. Your fingerprint is a one-of-a-kind – no other match could be found present, past, or future. The same goes for our God-given identity. God’s infinite wisdom and creativity enable Him to form us uniquely in our mother’s wombs. Your identity is God’s gift to the world. You were created to reveal God in a specific way that no other human being could. God doesn’t want you to be like your favorite influencer or a well-known spiritual figurehead. He desires you to be all He designed you to be. The world needs you to be you, not a poor copy of someone you admire.
Scripture Reading: Genesis 1:26-27 and Psalm 139:13-16
Prayer Prompts:
- Ask the Lord to reveal who He created you to be. What is unique about your design? How do you reveal the Lord?
- Ask the Lord to reveal any lie you are believing that is keeping you from being all He designed you to be. Next, ask Him for truth that will set you free from the lie and empower you to be who He created you to be.
